If you’re planning on tying the knot in Coronado, you might be wondering if golf carts are ideal for transporting you and your guests. Here are some frequently asked questions regarding golf cart use for weddings!
WHAT SIZE CARTS DO YOU OFFER?
We offer 4 seaters, 6 seaters, and 8 seaters.
On all of our carts, there is one rear-facing bench on the back of the cart, so two people will be sitting rear-faced if the cart is full.
DO YOU DELIVER CARTS?
Our availability to deliver carts will vary in regards to location and availability. Please call us at 619.504.5537 or email us at [email protected] for inquiries regarding both on and off island delivery.

4 SEATER:
- $59 for the first hour
- $20 for each additional
- $129 all day
6 SEATER:
- $79 first hour
- $20 each additional hour
- $149 all day
8 SEATER:
- $99 all day
- $20 each additional hour
- $169 all day
OVERNIGHT RENTALS:
Additional $20 on top of rental cost
MUST BE RETURNED 10AM THE FOLLOWING MORNING FULLY CHARGED
HOW DOES AN OVERNIGHT RENTAL WORK?
An overnight rental allows you to keep a cart rented overnight, with your return time being 10AM the following morning. With an overnight rental, we add a $20 overnight fee onto all carts being rented on top of your rental rate total.
We will provide you with a charger for the cart so you can plug it in overnight, or whenever you’re finished using the cart. All carts must be fully charged upon returning to our office at 10AM the following morning! Please ensure you have a reliable charging situation wherever you plan on plugging it in before you book the cart for an overnight rental; the carts plug into a regular 110v outlet.

Our rates are the same year round, regardless of whether you’re booking for an event, a wedding, or are bringing the family with you. If you have a specific question regarding our rates or are considering a larger order of carts for your wedding, contact us and we’ll help out with the booking and further details!
where can I take the carts?
Golf carts must stay on roads under 35mph. In Coronado, golf carts have to stay on Coronado Island; you cannot take them onto the Strand Freeway or over The Coronado Bridge. Other than that, you drive it just like your car and keep it on the roads (no sand, bike paths, or sidewalks) and park it in a legal spot as well!
I’M HAVING A BEACH WEDDING. CAN I TAKE THE CARTs ONTO THE BEACH?
No, the carts cannot drive on the sand. However, you can park very close to our beach by parking right on Ocean Boulevard!
HOW LONG SHOULD I RENT THE CARTS FOR?
The length of your rental will depend on what you need to use it for.
If you’ll just need it for the day or a couple hours, you can rent hourly or do an all day rental! Return time for an all day rental will be when we close; our closing time will depend on what time of year you’re planning on renting, as our summer hours are longer than our winter hours.
If you are using the golf carts to transport people around all day into the nighttime, but will not need it the following day, a full day rental with an overnight fee could be suitable.
If you’ll need it a bit longer, we’re happy to accommodate this as well. Multi-day rentals are a popular option for those needing transportation over the course of a few days or longer for your rehearsal dinner, the day of the wedding, and other activities! Our shortest multi-day rental would be a 2-day rental which begins the day you pick it up.
Another option could be recommending golf carts as transportation to your guests directly so they can rent out their own personal cart!
HOW MUCH CHARGE IS ON THE CARTS?
All carts provided to you will be fully charged, and they will drive for 20 miles. For reference, Coronado is about a mile long and a mile wide.
How long it will drive time wise depends on usage of the cart and the collective weight of all the passengers riding (particularly on our larger eight seaters). If you’re driving around non-stop, the battery will drain quicker as opposed to driving from one destination/event to another. All carts have a battery gauge so you can easily keep track of the cart’s battery level during your rental!
DO YOU OFFER DRIVERS?
We do not offer drivers at Coronado Golf Cars.
I’M A WEDDING VENDOR, COULD A GOLF CART BE USEFUL TO ME?
Definitely! It’s easy to get winded working an all-day event such as a wedding. Having a golf cart will get you where you need to be quicker, without all of the running around.
Golf carts are designed to hold passengers but if you are using small and light equipment, you could take them along with you (ex: flowers, small table decorations).
Golf carts are not meant to hold heavy machinery due to weight limits and safety purposes!
CAN I DECORATE THE CARTS?
Absolutely!
Make sure you fit time to decorate the cart into your schedule; you might want to pick it up a little earlier than planned if you want to have it decorated and ready to go for the day.
CAN I HAVE KIDS/PETS ON THE CARTS?
Your pet is more than welcome on the golf carts!
Children between the ages of 2-8 may ride, but must be in a booster or car seat per California Law. We provide these based on availability, and free of charge. Unfortunately, children under the age of 2 cannot ride on the golf carts.
CAN I PICK THE COLOR OF MY CARTS?
Generally speaking, we cannot promise you’ll be rented a specific cart or cart color.
However, if there are certain colors you would like, let us know ahead of time and we’ll do our best to work it out for you!
