Shop Small In Coronado This Holiday Season!
Forget busy malls and endless circling for parking this holiday season – Coronado is home to dozens of local shops, all with a unique selection for everybody on your list this year! With many being locally owned, you’ll be giving back to the community as well. Something that makes Coronado special to me is the walkability of our island, and Orange Avenue is one of my favorite places to discover new things at every corner. All of our local businesses deserve a spotlight, but here are a few of my favorite spots for gifting!
Geppetto’s has been a San Diego favorite for over 40 years, and shopping for all the kiddos in one stop has never been easier with a location right on Orange Avenue! This family owned toy shop has everything you could imagine – stuffed animals, scooters, STEAM activities, board games, and charming toys for babies are just a few things you can discover over at Geppetto’s. If you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed by the selection, just ask any of the “toy experts” who will help you find the perfect toy. Complimentary gift wrapping is the cherry on top of a fantastic shopping experience!
Seaside Papery is home to gifts galore for the studious and creative person on your list. With an ever changing themed front window that reels you in, you can’t skip over this shop! Walls of greeting cards guarantee you’re covered for all occasions, and a variety of candles also makes this the perfect stop for the scent lover on your list. You’ll find stationery throughout the shop, and who can resist the collection of Jellycats hanging out around the store? It’s so easy to get lost in everything this lovely store has to offer – walking around you’ll see jewelry, so many cute stickers, knick knacks, and an amazing selection of writing utensils from pencils to glitter gel pens! It’s impossible to list everything this delightful shop has to offer, so make sure you free your schedule to take a proper look around. Seaside Papery also has plenty of festive wrapping paper to choose from, and they wrap gifts as well!
Adorn has quickly become a favorite shop of mine. The store has a welcoming and cozy ambiance, and the gift selection is eccentric! I always pop in when I want some unique new stickers for my water bottles and laptop but there is so much Adorn has to offer. On my most recent trip, I was welcomed by a table fit for pet lovers before passing their jewelry selection and an outdoorsy themed area. Adorn has you covered for everything, whether you’re seeking out cheery stocking stuffers or some amusing gifts. There’s always something new at this shop- definitely stop by if you’re looking for a gift they don’t already have and will absolutely love!

Fuzziwig’s has the sweetest gifts on this list! Hand select their favorite candies for the perfect stocking stuffer, or pick up some fresh fudge for the whole family to enjoy while watching a Christmas movie! The caramel apples can’t be missed either – my personal favorite is enveloped in colorful sprinkles, but you can also grab one with nuts, or opt for one that’s plain yet delicious. You’ll find every type of sweet treat here from sour belts to chocolate covered candies. While you’re in there, check out their toy selection as well! Grab some Squishables or Beanie Babies for the plush lover, and don’t miss out on their Lego selection!
Bay Books has been a Coronado staple since the 90’s, and has kept its charm after undergoing a move and some renovations. You’ll find everything you need for the bookworm on your shopping list! Pick up some bestsellers, or head over to the mystery section for some suspense. There’s also a great selection of children and young adult books to keep all ages entertained. And if you don’t have a reader on your list, check out the activity books! You can find crosswords, wordsearches, coloring books, and other puzzles. There’s also non-book gifts offered here- some alternative gift options range from cute keychains, accessories, candles, and some stationery. Not too sure what to pick up?
