It feels like just yesterday that the Island of Coronado was bustling with cheer, holiday decor, and a multitude of festive events. During the Annual Coronado Golf Car Rentals Holiday Parade, Island dwellers could be seen outside of their fully decked out homes, waving & exchanging pleasantries as the carts cruised through side streets. but as usual, the good times have come and gone with the blink of an eye. The only evidence of the merriment had is in the trash bins lining the residential streets throughout the island. They can be seen overflowing with spent Christmas trees, empty gift boxes, tangled masses of string lights, and various other colorful remnants of celebration. The joyful holiday festivities that we so carefully planned for, are now a mere memory. So… what’s to look forward to in the new year?

For starters….who couldn’t use a good laugh to beat the post holiday blues!?! On January 21st, from 7:30-9:30 pm, anyone aged 18 and above is invited to head over to Emerald C. Gallery, located at 1331 Orange Ave. in Coronado for a night of comedy & entertainment. The venue boasts an expansive indoor/outdoor fine art gallery, perfect for accommodating the covid-conscious comedy lover. Tickets are totally affordable at only $ 20 bucks a pop, and better still, you can BYOB! Get your tickets on event-brite before they sell out!
If you’re looking for some fresh beats to chime in 2022, the aforementioned Emerald C. Gallery is also hosting “Live Music on the Patio!” every Wednesday, Thursday, & Saturday throughout the month of January. For those of you interested in keeping up with and networking with the island’s local business ventures, join in on the Coronado Chamber January Mixer, the first social of the New Year 2022!!! This event takes place on January 20th, from 4:30-6pm at “The Henry”, 1031 Orange Ave.Coronado, CA 92118. Rub elbows with new members of the Chamber while indulging in delicious small bites and one of “The Henry’s” specialty cocktails. I’d go for “The Henry’s” take on the classic mule, their “Fig & Ginger mule. If cocktails aren’t your cup of tea(so to speak), sip on a glass of wine from “The Henry’s” extensive wine menu or a local craft brew, if that’s more up to your speed.
