Eat at Bluewater Boathouse

Bluewater Boathouse is the perfect location for seafront dining. This was originally built as a prototype for The Hotel Del Coronado – nowadays, it’s a local favorite renowned for stunning views and fresh seafood. Rainbow Trout Amandine and the Alaskan King Crab are some of your tasty options here! Being located next to one of Coronado’s most famous attractions means you can walk around The Del before or after your meal as well. Strolling down the Del Beach pedestrian path offers amazing views of the Pacific Ocean, Point Loma, and Coronado’s Beach. If you’re planning something in the evening, The Del puts up spectacular Christmas decorations once the season begins.

Dine at Chez Loma

Chez Loma, a french restaurant situated inside a victorian-style Coronado historical landmark, is one of the island’s more romantic eateries. Hours are limited, with reservations only open for dinner and brunch on certain days of week. Dinnertime guests have plenty of savory options to choose from, including filet mignon, salmon, and beef wellington.

Chez Loma is conveniently located right off of the main street, leaving opportunities for a scenic stroll down Ocean Boulevard or Orange Avenue after dinner. Make sure to plan ahead and grab a table here – spots can fill up quickly!

Il Fornaio, located at the Coronado Ferry Landing, is the best spot for Italian eats with a view. You’ll find classic Italian dishes here such as salmone alla griglia and pollo toscano. You could also swing by their happy hour from 3-6pm Monday through Friday to sip on a Milano Mule and order a Margherita Pizza. Afterwards, walk around the Ferry Landing while it’s lit up past dusk and take in the views of the city right across the bay.

Golf Cart Rentals

What better way to see Coronado? With as little as an hour, you can see the entire island! There’s endless ways to spend your day when you rent from us, but here’s what I’d recommend if you have an hour or two.

Coast down Ocean Boulevard and sightsee the oceanfront mansions before driving around the residential areas. It’ll be a bit quieter when driving through the neighborhoods, and it’s a perfect way to enjoy the weather. If you’re visiting during the holidays, you can also plan to check out halloween/christmas decorations! After that, hop out at the ferry landing. You can check out some of the shops, or enjoy the skyline views.

Picnic

Coronado has some great locations for picnics. Spreckels Park on a weekday morning guarantees small crowds – but you have lots of options. Home to views of The San Diego Bay and Downtown, Harborview and Bayview live up to their name making them great parks for a scenic picnic. Star Park (right around the corner from us) is just a block away from the ocean, and typically not as busy as the other parks around town. Of course, beach picnics are always an option here! If you set up near the fire pits, you can have a bonfire once the sun sets (you can also bring portable fire pits to Coronado Beach!).

Gondolas

Many people aren’t too familiar with The Gondola Company!

If you’re wanting to go all out for your date, book a gondola ride (sunset is recommended for the best views and quieter atmosphere) and float along the canals of the Coronado Cays. You can also request a professional mandolin player for the 50 minute ride! Wine, non-alcholic beverages, and chocolate truffles are available to purchase as well. The Gondola Company also offers a special proposal gondola package.
