December Night Lights: Ride the Holiday Lights in Coronado ✨

Looking for a cozy, actually fun holiday tradition this year? Picture this: you and your favorite people bundled up in blankets, cruising through Coronado in a street-legal golf cart, Christmas music playing, hot cocoa in hand, and the whole island sparkling with holiday lights.

That’s December Night Lights at Coronado Golf Cars – our seasonal night rides designed just for seeing the best Christmas lights around Coronado at your own pace.

Reservations are required and spots always go fast, so read below to see how it works and how to book your cart for this year’s dates.

STEP 1 – Reserve Your December Night Lights Golf Cart

December Night Lights is by reservation only, and nights fill quickly. Once you’ve picked your date, give us a call, send an email, or book online and we’ll walk you through the rest.

You’ll choose your start time in the evening (we book in short time intervals around sunset and into the early evening) and enjoy a 90-minute ride to explore the lights around Coronado.

Important reminders:

  • Reservations required for December Night Lights; walk-ins are only accepted during regular daytime business hours if we have availability.

  • Drivers must be 18+ with a valid driver’s license and matching credit card. Please Note: Drivers under 25 years old must purchase the damage waiver. Maximum of 2 drivers per vehicle.

  • Kids 8 and under must ride in a booster or car seat (we have a limited number available at no extra charge, first come, first served).

  • Children under 2 are not permitted to ride in the cart for safety reasons.

🎄 Pro tip: Book early in the season to lock in your preferred night and time. Popular weekends and holiday dates sell out first.

STEP 2 – Arrive & Check In

On the day of your ride, plan a little extra time for parking and check-in so you can enjoy your full experience.

Parking options nearby include:

  • Parking garages near Orange Ave

  • Limited street parking in surrounding residential areas

  • Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) is often the easiest, stress-free option – especially on busy holiday nights.

If you haven’t filled out your waiver ahead of time, no problem – you can complete it when you arrive. All drivers will need to:

  • Fill out a waiver

  • Show a valid driver’s license

  • Place a credit card on file before heading out

We’ll also give you a quick rundown of how to operate the cart, answer any questions, and make sure you feel totally comfortable before you pull out.

STEP 3 – Warm Up with Complimentary Hot Cocoa ☕️

Every December Night Lights rental includes complimentary hot cocoa for your group.

Create your perfect cup with:

  • Marshmallows

  • Sprinkles

  • Toppings (subject to availability and nightly setup)

Grab your cocoa, get cozy under blankets, turn on the Christmas tunes, and get ready to roll.

STEP 4 – Cruise the Island & Ride the Lights 🎅

Once you’re checked in and comfy in your cart, it’s time to hit the road and hunt for the best holiday displays!

December Night Lights is self-guided – that means:

  • You drive your own cart

  • You choose your route (within our approved cart boundaries)

  • You explore as much of Coronado as you can during your 90-minute ride

Our team will give you:

  • A map of Coronado

  • Suggestions for light-filled neighborhoods and must-see spots

  • A quick reminder on boundaries and safe streets to stick to

Boundary basics:

  • Carts must remain on Coronado Island

  • No driving over the Coronado Bridge

  • You can’t drive past the start of the Silver Strand Freeway

  • You can park at the Hotel del Coronado and walk around to enjoy their holiday décor, shops, and festive atmosphere

STEP 5 – Return Your Cart

Your December Night Lights ride is 90 minutes long, so be sure to keep an eye on time and leave enough room to get back to our shop without rushing.

We’ll check your cart back in, and you’re free to grab dinner, walk through town, or continue your holiday evening around Coronado.

Q: Is this a guided tour?
A: No – December Night Lights is self-guided. You drive your own golf cart and choose where to go (within our boundaries). Our staff will happily mark suggested light displays and festive streets on your map before you head out. Please note, holiday lights are not guaranteed on residential homes. We recommend booking the week of Christmas to see the most lights.

Q: How long is the December Night Lights experience?
A: Each reservation includes 90 minutes of drive time, which is usually the perfect amount of time to cruise through several neighborhoods, circle past the Hotel del, and stop for photos & light snacks.

Q: What about dates and pricing for this year?
