Coronado Casual Dining Guide

Here are some of our favorite places for casual dining on island; all of these places are family friendly and will have something for everyone to enjoy!

#1 – GARAGE BUONA FORCHETTA

Conveniently located right off of Orange Avenue, Garage Buona Forchetta became a favorite casual dining spot following its opening in 2020. Order from their takeout window or stay for a while and choose between indoor/outdoor seating. Buona Forchetta is the perfect local spot whether you’re dining for two or you’re bringing the family along with you!
If you wake up in time, you’ll get to enjoy their breakfast menu! Tiramisu Brioche French Toast and Nutella Pancakes will satisfy your sweet tooth; order their Huevos Rancheros or Sausage Burrito for a savory start to your day.

The pastries cannot be missed either- you’ll have your choice between cinnamon rolls, stuffed croissants, and bombolonis, just to name a few!

#2 – PARAKEET CAFE & JUICERY

Walking down Orange Avenue, you’ll probably recognize Parakeet Cafe in a few spots. Close to Walgreens is one of two on-island Parakeet Juicery locations. The second Parakeet Juicery location is connected to Parakeet Cafe at 1134 Orange Avenue. This is the ideal option for health forward food in Coronado! Browsing their menu, you’ll find items ranging from açaí bowls to a grilled chicken burger, as well as their popular Golden Goddess Salad. You can also grab one of their shared plates such as bread and hummus, or chips and guac.

Try out a “Classic” that blends strawberries, apples, and bananas, or opt for something like a “Dragon Fruit Blast” which includes pitaya, coconut water, pineapple, and banana. Their “Fit 4 Life” smoothie is packed with blueberries, almond milk, banana, almond butter, and vanilla protein, perfect for a refreshing post-workout drink. You also have a large variety of juice options to order from! The G3 is made up of kale, spinach, cucumber, celery, apple, lemon, and ginger, while a simpler option such as O2 has grapefruit and mint. However, you’re not restricted to the menu as Parakeet Juicery lets you make your own juice combinations!

#3 – NIGHT & DAY CAFE

Established in the 1920’s, Coronado’s Night & Day Cafe is a favorite go-to spot for Mexican and American fare on island.

Early birds can catch Night & Day’s breakfast menu- The Coronado Breakfast Burrito is stuffed with bacon, hash browns, egg, avocado and cheese egg, cheese, carne asada, avocado and salsa fresca. You could also go for one of their omelets; the Denver is made with ham, bell peppers, and onions. And you of course can’t go wrong with pancakes and French toast!

Night & Day also serves up classic BLT, Club, and Turkey and Avocado sandwiches, but you could also opt for their Night & Day Monte Cristo! And if you’re in the mood for a burrito, you’re in the right spot. Choose from Carne Asada, Shredded Beef or Chicken, Bean & Cheese, or one of their specialty burritos. Burgers and Tacos are also served here- so no matter what you’re craving, Night & Day is the perfect spot to pop by!

#4 – VILLAGE PIZZERIA BAYSIDE

When it comes to Village Pizzeria, you can decide between dining at their Orange Avenue location or their Bayside location at the Ferry Landing. Both of these locations serve up the same delicious pizza, but you’ll get amazing water views at the Bayside location! So cruise on down to the Ferry Landing and enjoy this view while you eat!

You’re definitely not limited to just pizza here. Start off by ordering some appetizers! You can never go wrong with some garlic knots or mozzarella sticks, but don’t shy away from your choice of buffalo, bbq, garlic parmesan, or hot honey wings either! And once you’re ready to order, you can choose between hoagies, heroes, salads, pasta, calzones, and pizza of course. If you have room for more when you’re done, grab some dessert! Mootime Creamery ice cream is sold here, alongside zeppolis, and their special dessert pie “Sweetie Pie”. Village Pizzeria is a local favorite, so don’t skip out on a visit!
